1. Go to Site Configuration -> Performance:
   • Set the following options, and click Save configuration:
     • Caching mode: Disabled
     • Minimum cache lifetime: none
     • Page compression: Disabled
     • Block cache: Disabled
     • Optimize CSS files: Disabled
     • Optimize JavaScript files: Disabled
   • Click Clear cached data.
2. Go to Site building -> Views -> Tools:
   • Check Disable views data caching and click Save configuration.
   • Click Clear Views’ cache.
3. Install the Devel module, and go to Site Configuration -> Devel settings:
   • Check Rebuild the theme registry on every page load and click Save configuration.
4. Add the following to your .module file to disable menu caching

function hook_init(){
   //FIXME: remove before going into production
   menu_rebuild();
}

With this, now ALL caching in drupal will disabled. Enjoy quicker development & don’t forget to undo these changes once your site goes into production!

So If you are not happy with your current operator, then you now the option to switch

Here is how the process works:

1. Clear your dues with Previous Operator(Incase of postpaid)
2. Goto your new operator’s Customer Care Center. select whatever plan you want(Prepaid/Postpaid). And tell them that you want port your previous number.
3. Now, send SMS PORT <Mobile Number you wish to port> to 1900. you will get a UPC code in return, via SMS. give your this UPC Code to new operator. They would charge you Rs19/- and process would be completed in a week.
4. you get the exact time when switch would occure, that that you can remove the old sim. And start using sim given by your new operator.

Q. What is a UPC code?

A. UPC code is an 8 digit Unique porting code which you will be required to provide to New Operator at the time of switching.

Q. Will there be any disconnection of services in this process?

A. Your number will be functional throughout this process. The switchover will happen between 10 pm to 5 am to ensure your connectivity is not disrupted. However there will be a 2 hour span between 10 pm to 5 am when your services may be disrupted, this exact time would be communicated to you in advance.

Q. Do I have to replace my SIM card?

A. Yes. you will get new sim from operator you are switching to.

Q. I have CDMA, can I port to a GSM operator?

A. Yes but you will get to change your handset because CDMA handset does not work for GSM.

Recently, Facebook has enabled support for XMPP/Jabber protocol which means that now you can using standalone Instant Messengers like Pidgin(Works on Windows,Mac & Linux),iChat(Mac only).  This works on Windows,Linux and Mac on any application that support jabber protocol.

here I would demonstrate to do this on Windows with pidgin.

Step 1) Set your Facebook username by going here. if your profile url is facebook.com/xxxxx then xxxxx will be your username. please remember it, we will need in later steps.

Step 2) Download & install Pidgin: Pidgin is Open Source IM App which can be freely downloaded from Pidgin.im. Please visit the site and download & Install. Installation is pretty straightforward – typical windows style. Just keep Clicking Next,Next,Next and pidgin would be install automatically.

Strep 3) Configuration: now Launch Pidgin. you will be greeted with Account Dialog Box  click on “Add Account” to a facebook account

Step 4) Now in Add Account Screen, enter the following & leave rest to default:

• protocol: XMPP
• username: your facebook username . Its the same which you get in step-1
• Domain: chat.facebook.com
• password: <enter your facebook password>
• Check Remember Password

Step 5) In the Advanced Tab, Do the following

• Uncheck “Require SSL/TLS“
• Check “Allow plaintext auth over unencrypted streams“
• Connect port: 5222
• Connect Server: chat.facebook.com

Step 6) Click on Save and wait for few seconds while pidgin connects to facebook. If you have configured the settings correctly then you should be able to see this:

Congrats! you can start chatting with your friends rightway

Bonus Tip:Pidgin supports multiple protocols. so you can also add your GTalk,Yahoo Messenger or MSN accounts same way you added your Facebook account and chat on all of them at the same time. no need to install separate client program for each protocols.  Great Nice eh?
