Solution:Some Random sites do not open with BSNL Broadband

BSNL Broadband is a broadband internet service from state owned BSNL in India. during Past few weeks many Bsnl Broadband customers are complaining that they can’t open some sites like Google.com,Microsoft.com. MSN.com, Hotmail.com but can connect to mail.com,orkut.com. the sites which are not opening are random – it can be any site which does not open.If you a similar problem and can’t open some sites then read on……
There are mainly two Reasons to this Problem:-

Bad DNS: Bsnl’s DNS sometimes due to overload fails to resolve queries. sometimes this is a temporary problem. if it occurs often then change to third party DNS server like Opendns. changing DNS server is very simple process, there is no software to install. you just need to specify IP address of alternate DNS servers. Opendns also has other features like filtering of adult sites etc. detailed instructions on how to setup can be found on Opendns website.

Large MTU: MTU stands for Maximum transmission Unit. it is max size of each data packet which travels across a Internet. each interface has it own MTU value. Larger MTU ensures bandwidth efficiency but it can also choke interfaces. if you have problems with your network a conservative MTU value of 1454 is recommended.to change MTU. The third party Dr. TCP software can be used to change the MTU setting.

Download this tiny utility from here. choose exe file type
Run the utility you just downloaded.
In the Adapter Settings, select the Ethernet driver and adapter used to connect with BSNL broadband.
In the MTU box, type the 1454.
Click in any other box, without changing the data there.
Click Save.
Click Exit.
Restart the computer.

Hopefully you be able to solve your network problems. Enjoy High-speed enabled Internet!!

Howto get Inline/embedded Comment form in Blogger

Most people don’t like the default comment style of blogger, which is to have comments in separate window with a diffrent theme which does not match your site. for this reason alone people switch to other blogging platform like wordpress which have this features since ages.

Now blogger team has came to rescue, added inline comments, so that your readers can comment right on the page.however this feature is in testing phase only as it has lot of bugs.

but this does not mean you should not try it.

I have successfully implemented this on my blog, and shall guide you to do that same

1) Open http://draft.blogger.com/ & sign in with your user id & password

2) Upon reaching Dashboard, Navigate to Settings

3) Under Comments Tab; select “Embedded below post” in Comment Form Placement. then click on Save Settings.

4) Now the Embedded comments should appear, If you have custom template, you will need to make a small changes to your template code. But don’t worry, it’s a small change!

i) First Backup your template. to backup, navigate to Layout>Edit HTML. Under Backup / Restore Template head. Click Download Full Template.

ii) Now go to Layout>Edit HTML in your blog’s dashboard and check the “Expand widget templates” box.Search for this line in template code:

< b:include data=’post’ name=’comments’/>

now just after this add line

< b:include data=’post’ name=’comment-form’/>

please note, the above line needs to be added without deleting other line. it should be added just below it

If you have done all above things correctly then you should see an embedded comment form. if not then please re-read the above and verify that you did everything correctly. if you still not get it then you can ask but do give me all details. like your blog url,template,what procedure did you take etc etc.

This is a welcome feature on blogger which would stop many users from migrating to other blogging platforms. i hope blogger team fixed all current issues and makes it LIVE soon.

We know Linux is a operating system where everything can be customized as tag line for linux is “Linux – We Have a Choice”. this way a person can get a tailor made working environment which does all the tasks in his/her way, he can schedule his daily encoding & downloading tasks,made custom keyboard shortcuts for his most used function.

This generally suits a single user Pc, but what about a system used by many persons in a single user account?, for them we need some customisations that does not need any prior expriance & comouter could be operated by use of common sense. now you would ask why use a single user account?, why not create accounts for every user. here are the reasons:-

* It would require you to always log-on & log-off every now, which requires you to restart all your running applications. For example:while you are burning a DVD, your dad needs to check a important e-mail from his boss. his E-mail is configured on Evolution(default mail client for ubuntu), so he has to login his account and check email whereas you can’t logoff as basaro can’t be stopped in the middle.
how convient it would have been if there was a single user account which would be suitable for all.

* Remembering Userid & passwords is also a big project. we already have bank a/c,ATM pin,login details at work,internet banking userid & passwords and tons of other such details. who add one more to the never ending list?

Do you own a Oppo V5 & don’t know Chinese language?

If “Yes” then you came to right place.

Oppo V5 only support AVI file format for videos, even it doesn’t play all regular avi file type. else player would shows “FILE FORMAT ERROR”.the file needs to be converted using a Application called AVIConverter which is suppiled inside the player’s flash memory.

The application’s is in chinese interface, So English speaking users are left out.

Here is the English Version of AVIConverter & quick guide.

1) Download AVIConvertor from here.| Alternate link 1 (Skydrive) | Alternate link 2(Megashare)

2) After download completes,extract the file using winrar & double on “AVIConverter_ENG.exe” to start installation.

3) Select Language as “English”(Really important) & Click on Okay.

4) Select Location where you want to install AVIconvertor, if you are unsure please click next.

5) Now setup would install, just wait for few minutes for setup to complete

6) Now you have installed AVIconvertor, click finish to run it

7) Now, Run the newly installed program, you should get a similar screen like this

Click Add Files button in the button & a Conversion Dialog box appears.

Select Resolution as 320×240 and rest option should be left at default values.Click save to add a file, you can add multiple files at once. once you finish adding files click CLOSE.

9) Now click on “Convert Now” & wait for conversion to complete. encoding it quite CPU intensive task, so it might take long.

10) After completion, close the application. now the file can be found via windows explorer, where ever you saved it STEP 8. it can played nicely on oppo v5. Congrats!

Orkut, a Social networking by google which is a rage in India. It helps People to connect to each other beyond Geographical boundaries.

Sometimes We face a situation when some create a fake profile with your name & photo on orkut. and starts abusing our friends, which in turn spoils our name. and we are almost help & have nothing to do.

Now here what to do
To expedite our ability to process your request, you will need to include:

1. Your legal name.
2. Your email address.
3. The name on your orkut profile (if you have one).
4. The URL for your orkut profile (if you have one).
5. The name of the orkut profile that is impersonating you.
6. The URL for the main page of the orkut profile that is impersonating you.
7. Attach a clear, readable copy of a valid photo ID. (You can either scan your ID or take a photo of the ID and upload it.)
8. Any additional details that support your claim.
