if th e government was to be pro consumer in their affairs then they sholud have adopted a simple policy long before.
1. Only Free to air channels allowed to broadcast advertising since it is their only source of generating income.
2. pay channels should not do advertising since thet earn from the viewers monthly fee. besides that an average 30 min programme has only about 12 min of pure content (content being nothing worth 5 min).
If only these were to be implemented there wold not be so much monopolising for the DTH operators.
Also with this procedure more legal connections would surfaced bcoz people would have opted for DD Dth for FTA channels.
This way much better content would be available for the viewers

ll this talk of Interoperability is crap, Govt says something, Law in India is only for ordinary citizens like you and me, If you have crores of rupees then you are not afraid of anyone, That's the exact reason why Govt does not take any action on DTH operators,

The only thing Govt needs to do is to make it compulsory for all DTH operators to sell CAM and card only, They should be barred from selling STBs, unlesss they give and install it totally free of any cost, So the customer can buy any good quality box with a CI slot and simply insert the cam and card and watch it,

Add to that the crocodile tears these frauds are making, They say they are suffering losses to supply stb, So why are they selling it in the first place, They also give you free STB for Rs. 1500/-,

If you have the money and influence, In India you can get away doing whatever you want, It is not only you , but everyone feels the same way,
